The ENT doctors said my 5 years ancient daughter has enlarge tonsils and adenoid. They suggest that her tonsils should be remove.
But from what I read everywhere from the internet, nowdays tonsils are known excellent to prevent bacteria from entering the mouth, enlarge tonsils should shrink by itself by the age of 12.
Now, I am confuse whether to listen to my doctors or choose according to the small knowledges I have. I`m worried about the operation at her young age. Somebody please advice.
My daughter has not much problems, only that she could not pronounces Nasal Letters like M/N properly and she likes to breath by her mouth when sleeping but not once that she sleeps snoring.
Are the doctors in my country using the ancient techniques?
Can enlarge tonsils cause any worse illness?

(I questioned in the health section, but no responses,,maybe you wives, girlfriends, mothers, and fiances out there have some insight)
For the past year and half I’ve been with my boyfriend, and have become fed up with how heavy a sleeper he is. Well, I’m not fed up, but I’m searching for solutions to making it simpler for him to wake up.
He only gets about 4hrs a sleep a night (yes, I know that more sleep will help waking up, but getting more sleep isn’t an option)
He works from 6am-1am, working 3 jobs. It’s also not an option to drop any of the jobs, or to be searching for a steady 9-5(with unemployment rates around here, and lack of job oppurtunities)
As soon as he lays down, boom. . . in a deep sleep, heavy snoring, grinding his teeth, a bomb could go off and he’d probably just turn over.
Now when the alarm goes off in the morning at 5:15am, it beeps repeatedly until he gets up & he can barely wake up on time, usually he gets up at 6, making him late for work.
On top of the alarm clocking going off, I start by being nice trying to wake him up, “Babe it’s time to wake up” and rub his back, but no respone. So then after about 10minutes of that I start getting mad I can’t get him up and he shows NO acknowledgment of getting up.
When he does wake up, and I’ve been constantly “nagging” to wake him up, he’s usually in a terrible mood(well who wouldn’t if you’re being told to wake up). So it causes us to fight, and I know it isn’t my responsibility to wake him up because he’s a huge boy, but I’d feel like it’d be my fault if he’s really late because I could have prevented it.
Any thoughts on how to get him to either wake up with ease? Or how to feel more rejuvenated when he does wake up?
Or how to make him not be such a heavy sleeper?

The person usually sleeps 6. 5-8 hrs a day, wakes up about 1 time during the night, usually no problem falling asleep, but dreams a lot during the night and remember the dreams most of the times. The person also occasionally snores(soft snores) and sometimes feels congested in the nose upon waking up but then disappears within 10 mins. He/she wakes up feeling tired, eyes feel heavy, and not refresh; which causes the person to fall back to sleep, but then go into the dream mode straight away, then after about 5-10 mins, wakes up and fall back to sleep again, and continues for a few dream-wake cycles, then she will force herself to get out of bed. The person also sometimes falls asleep during the day, usually take an 30-45 mins nap on non-working days. What is the problem? Anything to prevent/treat it? The person usually sleep and wake up about the same time+/- 1 hr.

i want to know, cause so many ppl have done so, and I want to reckon that if I were in the room with some of the ppl I have known,I could have prevented their deaths. Just askin. If I were in the room with Heath Ledger, I would not have let him take the overdose that had killed him, and the ” snoring?” It wasn’t snoring. It was fluid accumulating in his lungs, which happens just prior to death. It is usually a sign that death is immenent. This applies to those ppl who knew of someone who has committed suicide. I am not saying Heath did so, I am simply stating that if I were in the room, I may have been able to prevent his death.

I’m 23 years ancient, and have been sleeping on my stomach for as long as I can remember. For the past couple of years I’ve noticed that it’s been causing physical problems (pain in my neck, serious lower back issues) I have been trying to go to sleep on my back, or on my side, but I keep waking up on my stomach. Are there any tricks to prevent this? (Like I know women used to sew a tennis ball in their husbands pj’s to make sure they wouldn’t sleep on their back, to prevent snoring

4 years ago I had a wisdom tooth removed, it was abscessed and ulcerated and in general. . . Pretty revolting.
After this episode, the swelling and infection went away leaving my palette swolen on one side. This caused no particular problems in it’s self, but has lead to 4 years of repeated throat infections to the point that I had my Tonsils (and spurs ?) removed last year to open thing up and try to prevent me from snoring.
Has anyone else had similar long term problems after the extraction of seriously infected wisdom teeth ?
Please don’t answer tellin me to go to my GP, I’m in for an MRI and CT soon, yesterday I had a camera up my nose and several trained professionals looking in my mouth ears and nose, so take it as read that I am seeking professional medical advice and reicieving attention. . . but, for the moment the specialist admits he’s not sure what it is. The lump has no pulse, is not growing and is not painfull.
Any one been there or got an educated guess ?

I’m a light sleeper & any exposure to sound or light prevents me from sleeping or worse wakes me up . No matter how tired I’m , trying to sleep again is an ordeal. My husband who works long hours sleeps off the moment he hits the bed and starts to snore . Strangely the more tired he is the louder the snores & sometimes I dread it would just break the walls of the room. It’s extremely upsetting to sleep in the same room as him as is the protocol in my home. I’ve tried all forms of ear plugs & other ways to subdue the sounds but I only wake up with a sprained neck & a lot of body pain in the morning. As a result of reduced sleep I feel very enervated & listless all day long with the added distress of mood swings. There is no nastral problem that my husband suffers from or any other deformity that could clarify his excessive snores. Please suggest a way which can prevent him from snoring & help me attain peaceful sleep. Your advise shall greatly help as lately its causing a lot of tension.

Do you or does someone you know suffer from that horrible sleeping disorder called, snoring? Do they constantly deny that they do not snore? Is it preventing others from getting a excellent night’s sleep? Does it drive you so crazy to the point where you find yourself sleeping on the coach just to prevent it? If so, you are not the only person who is going crazy trying to get some sleep, but I reckon I may have the solution to help reduce your problem. It has also been proven to cause psychological and social problems. I’m sure you did not reckon snoring caused so many issues, did you?
What is snoring? Dictionary. com describes snoring as, “to breathe during sleep with hoarse or harsh sounds caused by the vibrating of the soft palate. ” Another definition is, “to pass (time) in snoring or sleeping (usually followed by away or out), for example to snore the day away”. GB states snoring is known to cause side effects such as, “irritability, lack of focus, decreases libido and daytime sleepines
