My mom questioned me to post this question about my dad. He drinks a few beers at about 4 or 5 o’clock, eats dinner, then goes to bed because he has to wake up early in the morning for work. My mom gets barely any sleep because of his snoring. By the sounds of things, the doctor said its his drinking. Is there some kind of trick or homemade way to stop this? Please help, my mom gets no sleep and pretty soon she’s going to have to go to the couch!!

I have excellent hearing. Isn’t this excellent? But alsmost every man over 40, sometimes even less, snores and disturbs my sleep. Yet men say they want me to sleep next to them. What do I do? Even excellent earplugs, I find some french brand the best wax ones, hurt your ears inthe end and they even fall off the ear during sleep. I do want to cuddle with a man but which is preferable or more vital, Sleep or a companion? Both for me, as is food. When I do not sleep I also do not eat . . but then when I do not have a companion I also don’t eat. Do you see the problem?
Let me also say that it is hard for men to accept to sleep on separate beds, even in the same room.
How is it some people sleep straight away and heavily?
I also know that surgery of the epiglotis or the nose is not always succesful snore wise. Also snoring does apnia which pressures the heart and makes heart problems from the thorax pushing on the heart.

I have to share a room with my brother when we go on holiday and he snores (when he isn’t snoring he is breathing very loudly which is also annoying). It spoils the holiday because i am always tired from lack of sleep. Please help!

All day long I am fine. As soon as I lay down my sinuses clog up and I can barely breath. I do breathing exercises to relax my nasal canal, it gives some relief, only one nasal opens up. When I switch sides I am laying on it switches nasal passages. I believe this is the source of my snoring. What should I do?

Going into memopause I had gained approximately 80 pounds. despite many attempts to exercise and diet which I would loose about 20/25 pounds then gain back 30. with in a 5 year period. Last year I had a hystorectomy and have gained approximately another 35/40 pounds and I am embarrased, depressed, can not sleep and developed a snoring problem as well as gasy pains in my stomache. This is taking a toll on my marriage despite my husbands warmth and support, but he deserves the woman he married. Realistically I don’t want to look twenty but I want to look the best I can for my age. Because I have been so depressed my husband has bought cruise tickets and I don’t want to be the “Stout Lady” around the pool. I know there are risk in any surgery, but living in this body I don’t feel alive and am willing to take any risk to look normal. I have always weighed around 125 minimum and 140 maximum. And I a now 241 and worried of the heatlth factors.

My boyfriend is only 20 and his snoring is dreadful most nights. It keeps me awake and is frustrating. I know their are surgeries out there to fix it, and some say exercise helps. The nose strips and sprays do not work because it is coming from his throat, not his nose. He believes he has sleep apnea, but we do not have the money to test for this. Anyone else experience this and can reccomend a solution thayt worked for them?

Yahoo is advertising this on the right hand sight of their Q and A. I reckon its not a fantastic look.

We have tried Breath Rites and the spray and neither work, any suggestions?
