Snoring is a symptom of Sleep Apnea. Since you say that you have really terrible snoring, talk to your Dr. Do you wake up with headaches, have day-time sleepiness, even though you sleep 8 hours a night, do sometimes get creepy, crawly feelings in your legs and that you always have to go them to get rid of the feeling (this is known as Restless Leg Syndrome). These are some of the symptoms you can have because of Sleep Apnea. Snoring could also be a problem with your sinuses, adenoids, throat etc. Snoring can be a symptom of other problems too. There are a lot of things that can be done for snoring. Surgery should be your last option. You should be checked by a doctor. You could go see an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat doctor), a Neurologist, or a doctor that specializes in Respiratory problems, or you can start with your primary care Dr. and he can refer you to a specialist. Your age and your weight can also have something to do with severe snoring.
