i want to know, cause so many ppl have done so, and I want to reckon that if I were in the room with some of the ppl I have known,I could have prevented their deaths. Just askin. If I were in the room with Heath Ledger, I would not have let him take the overdose that had killed him, and the ” snoring?” It wasn’t snoring. It was fluid accumulating in his lungs,which happens just prior to death. It is usually a sign that death is immenent. This applies to those ppl who knew of someone who has committed suicide. I am not saying Heath did so, I am simply stating that if I were in the room, I may have been able to prevent his death.

Sure I’d be telling them how I reckon that is the weakest thing a person could ever do all while making my darn exit because if they don’t value their own life they sure don’t value mines and I don’t want to have to take a friend out because they got the bright thought that I should die with them so we can keep each other company! P.S. if they were really going to kill themselves they would just do it not sit and listen to their friends advice on the whys and why nots of living verses dying!

When someone has their mind set on leaving, there’s not much you can do. Your efforts would work well with the people who SAY they’re going to commit suicide (to get attention). But the truth is, they weren’t going to go through with it anyway. The people who really want to don’t make an announcement, they just do it. Quit letting this bother you. You can’t save the world. But you do have a huge heart, and the people who matter already know that. =)
I dont believe people like Kieth or Anna Nicole really intend to commit siucide. The thing is they get so used to taking the same meds and over time they feel it not doing anything for them so they take some more and some more and they are usually still feeling fine right up to the point of death. Thats how accidental overdoses work.

I don’t reckon Ledger’s death was a suicide…it was an accidental overdose of a very perilous drug, Ambien, that needs to be taken off the market, due to its horrible side effects….causes hallucinations in some….others take more than prescribed without realizing they have done so….others sleep walk and some have even been known to drive somewhere in their sleep on this drug…..it needs to be removed completely from the market. And snoring is certainly NOT usually a sign of oncoming death….millions snore in their sleep for years….it is more a sign of getting older.
As for talking someone out of suicide….the majority of those who really commit suicide do it alone….away from others……but, hopefully, most could be talked out of it, if another person was there TO talk to them at the time.

If a person is going to do that, they are NOT going to do it while you are there and say “hey watch me commit suicide” so you don’t even have to reckon about this. If a person would do this, it means they WANT you to stop them anyway — and you call 911 because they are a danger to themselves (you can’t control someone’s head when they hit that dark place — when it’s THAT DARK, they need professional help)

I believe that if you truly like that person and want them to live you could talk them out of it. Basically you would do everything in your power to stop them because you know how vital life is.
I know small about the death of Heath Ledger. What I do know is that if there was a person in the room with him and they didn’t try to talk him out of it then they were either suicidal themselves…or, they wanted him to die.
So…unless you are one of those two senarios. Suicidal or, a murderer…then you would be able to talk them out of killing themselves. Most likely.

I would give them a fantastic huge hug… And as I held them in my arms I would tell them about my battle with this. And how I needed to set some goals for myself, what they were, and how I’m working toward them. I would assure them that though life not is exactly the way that we want it to be, it can still be excellent. Then question them what they want to do. And encourage them to speak to a counselor about it….. I did not see your details. Poor guy. But I could not tell him from John smith.
Get help unless you are trained to intervene. Most times they will not commit this act until you leave the property. If they really mean business they will follow through after you leave. Now who will you blame? What could I have said or done different?

he didn’t commit suicide. he od’d w/ lots of perscription drugs. and he had pneunemonia. but i know what you mean. maybe i could talk somebody out of it. of course it wouldn’t be incorrect to physically stop them if it came to it.

Well the jury is still out on Heathcliff. Sounds like it was drugs – whether intentional or not, but let’s not assume to know more than the pathologists. I personally reckon I could talk anyone out committing suicide by overdosing, because how are they going to do it while I am there? First of all, I would prevent them from taking the overdose. Secondly, if they somehow found a way to take the overdoes, I’d call for help before they died. Now, a gun suicide would be different. Them’s the peeps who mean business. I reckon I’d call 911 and get the heck out of Dodge before I got shot for interfering.
I would give everything I had, including a lot of help from God.
